Dear Medium, Why Do You Hate Me? Confessions of a Failed Writer
Dear Medium,
We need to talk. It’s been a while since I started writing on your platform, and I have to say, things aren’t going as well as I’d hoped. I mean, I know I’m the best writer on the planet — my mom told me so — so why aren’t my articles going viral? And why am I making only a few measly dollars?
I’ve tried everything, Medium. I’ve poured my heart and soul into my articles, crafting them with care and attention to detail. I’ve studied the art of storytelling, honed my voice, and cultivated a loyal following. But for some reason, it’s just not working.
Is it something I said? Did I offend you in some way? Or is it just that you’re a heartless machine that doesn’t appreciate true talent?
I mean, I’ve seen some of the crap that goes viral on your platform. No offense to anyone, but some of those listicles and clickbait articles are pure garbage. And yet, here I am, pouring my blood, sweat, and tears into my work, and getting nowhere.
Don’t get me wrong, Medium. I appreciate the platform you’ve provided for me. I really do. It’s a great place to share my thoughts and ideas, and to connect with other writers and readers. But sometimes I feel like you’re just not giving me a fair shot.
