ScreenTalk: When My Computer and I Have Serious Chats
You know, my dear Medium pals, I’ve often wondered if I’ve crossed that invisible line between writer and, well, computer confidant. You see, my trusty screen and I have developed quite the rapport. It’s not just a tool; it’s a companion, a co-conspirator, and sometimes, a therapist. So, let me take you on a journey through my series of ScreenTalks, where my computer becomes the unlikeliest conversation partner.
It all starts innocently enough, as I sit down to write my next masterpiece. My fingers hover over the keyboard, and suddenly, my screen speaks, “What’s on your mind today, maestro?” And just like that, we’re in deep conversation.
Sometimes, my screen has a sense of humor. It’ll randomly auto-correct my typos into hilariously nonsensical sentences, as if it’s trying to tell me, “Hey, lighten up! Writing should be fun, right?”
But let’s not forget the occasional meltdown. My screen will freeze mid-sentence, and I’ll offer words of encouragement like, “Come on, buddy, you can do it!” It’s like cheering for the underdog in a slow-motion race.
Now, let’s talk about the great debates we have. My screen insists that one space is enough after a period, while I’m staunchly Team Two Spaces. We bicker like an old married couple, but we always compromise at one-and-a-half spaces.
